India has an extraordinary textile heritage and is the source of the wonderful cottons and silks fabrics we use for our collection of duvet covers, pillowcases, quilts and bedspreads. We've designed bedding in India for over 25 years and love working with the vibrant colours, beautiful textures and vitality that comes from these fabrics.

Bedspreads and Quilts

Bedspreads are made from cottons and cotton velvets - the embroidery and mirror work is all done by hand and is part of the village and tribal culture of the Indian states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Bedspreads are made in one generous size that can be used on double, king size or super king size beds. See the individual design for the
exact size. In the photographs the bedspreads are shown on king size beds. Bedspreads should be dry cleaned.

We love our luxurious quilts made from soft cottons, satins or cotton velvets! Beautiful as bed covers, they also make wonderful soft covers for relaxing on a sofa or day bed. The cotton filled Zari quilts make delightful lightweight summer quilts for hot nights and can also be used for extra winter warmth.

Our quilts are supplied with small cushions, pillows or pillow cases, see each model for details. They are made in one size and shown on a king size bed. Quilts should be dry cleaned.

Cotton and Silk Duvet Covers

We make duvet covers to fit double, king and super king size duvets, the buttons are concealed. Our duvet covers are supplied with two pillowcases, in some cases additional pillow cases can be ordered.

The Zari duvet covers are made from fine handwoven cottons from south India. The Zari fabrics are characterised by narrow borders of metallic brocade and we've used these borders to give small details of intense pattern and drama to the designs. The main woven panels are sometimes of a 'shot' fabric which changes colour slightly when viewed from different angles.

For the Kashmir duvet covers we use a beautiful slubbed silk with a handwoven texture decorated with soft floral embroidery. The fabric is not from Kashmir but the floral design and colours evoke the subtle decorative style of that region.

The Yamuna duvet covers are mostly cotton, with some linen. We have used restrained, simple designs to reflect the calm natural earth colours, combined in toning or contrasting shades.

As with all handwoven fabrics, small variations in colour and weave density may occur - indeed, it's these variations that give life to the fabrics. Click on the individual design for washing instructions.
